Fully degradable and biodegradable plastic bags are two different types of environmentally friendly plastic products, which have the following differences in degradation ability and environmental protection effect:

1. Degradable plastic bags: These types of plastic bags contain a certain amount of additives during the production process, such as starch, modified starch or other cellulose, photosensitizers, biodegradable agents, etc., which reduce their stability and make them easier to degrade in natural environments. However, they are only partially degraded and are still buried or incinerated like traditional plastic bags after disposal, and cannot be subjected to specialized industrial composting degradation treatment, thus still causing a certain degree of pollution to the environment.

2. Fully degradable plastic bags: Fully degradable plastic bags refer to plastic packaging bags that are completely degraded into water and carbon dioxide. The main source of this material is processed from corn, CaCo3, cassava, etc. into lactic acid, also known as polylactic acid (PLA). PLA is a new type of biomaterial and renewable biodegradable material with good biodegradability. After use, it can be completely degraded by microorganisms in nature under specific conditions, ultimately producing carbon dioxide and water without polluting the environment.

3. The main biobased materials of fully biodegradable materials are usually composed of PLA and PBAT (polybutylene adipate), which can be completely decomposed into water and carbon dioxide in 3-6 months under composting conditions (60-70 degrees), without polluting the environment. Although biodegradable plastic bags also contain biodegradable components, they cannot be completely degraded, and the disposal method after disposal is similar to traditional plastic bags. Therefore, fully biodegradable plastic bags have better environmental performance.

4. Huawei Group actively responds to the call of the global "plastic ban" policy and devotes itself to the research and development, production and sales of fully biodegradable materials. The HW series researched and developed by the company is a kind of green and environmentally friendly thermoplastic resin, which is a fully biodegradable material produced by using PBAT as the base material, modified with starch and calcium carbonate, and extruded through the process of melting and broadcasting layers of plasticizing, the material does not contain polyolefin plastics, and it can be degraded under specific conditions such as nature or soil composting and become harmless substances such as carbon dioxide and water. Now we have obtained domestic, EU (DIN CERTCO, TUV), U.S. (BPI), Australia (ABA) and other countries or regions degradation certification.

In daily applications, fully degradable plastic bags are considered a more environmentally friendly choice due to their complete degradation characteristics, while biodegradable plastic bags are limited in their environmental effectiveness due to incomplete degradation. With the increasing awareness of environmental protection and the development of technology, fully degradable plastic bags are expected to be widely used in the future.
