A new type of plastic film that can be biodegraded without causing soil pollution. Biodegradable plastic film is a new type of plastic film that can be biodegraded without causing soil pollution.

100% Biodegradable Plastic Film

Biodegradable plastic film refers to a type of plastic film that can be degraded by microorganisms under natural environmental conditions. After microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi, and actinomycetes erode plastic films, the growth of cells causes hydrolysis, ionization, or protonation of polymer components, resulting in mechanical damage and division into oligomer fragments. Enzymes secreted by fungi or bacteria decompose or oxidize water-soluble polymers into water-soluble fragments, generating new small molecule compounds until they are ultimately decomposed into CO2 and H2O.

Biodegradable plastic film is a new type of ground covering film, mainly used for ground covering to increase soil temperature, maintain soil moisture, maintain soil structure, prevent pests from attacking crops and diseases caused by certain microorganisms, thereby promoting plant growth.

There are many classification methods for biodegradable plastic film, and according to different classification methods, it can be divided into the following types:

1. According to the degradation mechanism and damage form, biodegradable plastic film can be divided into two types: fully biodegradable plastic film and additive biodegradable plastic film.

Fully biodegradable plastic film is a plastic film composed of substances that can be completely decomposed by microorganisms. These substances mainly come from natural materials such as starch, cellulose, chitosan, and other polysaccharides. The final products of their degradation are CO2 and H2O, which can be completely absorbed by nature and will not cause secondary pollution to the environment. Its main varieties include polylactic acid (PLA), polycaprolactone (PCL), polyhydroxybutyrate (PUB), etc. In addition, polyvinyl alcohol can also be completely degraded by water and microorganisms.

Additive biodegradable plastic film is made by mixing natural or synthetic polymers or biodegradable accelerators, processing aids, etc. with biodegradable properties on the basis of general plastics that do not have biodegradable properties. Additive type biodegradable plastic film is mainly composed of universal plastics, starch, compatibilizers, auto oxidants, and processing aids. Its typical variety is polyethylene starch biodegradable film.

2. According to the raw materials, biodegradable film can be divided into starch based biodegradable film, cellulose based biodegradable film, cellulose and other natural polymer materials blended and co polymerized film, lignin based biodegradable film, etc.

3. According to the molding process, biodegradable plastic film can be divided into film type, injection molding type, sheet type, and foaming type.

Production raw materials:

The main raw materials for fully biodegradable plastic film include polylactic acid (PLA), polycaprolactone (PCL), polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB), lignin, starch, etc. ‌

Polylactic acid (PLA): PLA is a biodegradable plastic that is polymerized from lactic acid and has good biodegradability and environmental performance.

Poly (ε - caprolactone) (PCL): PCL is a synthetic polymer with excellent biodegradability and mechanical properties, commonly used in the medical and packaging fields.

Polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB): PHB is a natural polymer synthesized by microorganisms and has good biodegradability and thermal stability.

Lignin: Lignin is a natural polymer material commonly used as one of the raw materials for liquid film, with good water retention and degradation properties.

Starch: Starch is a natural polysaccharide commonly used in additive biodegradable film, and its biodegradability is improved by mixing it with plastics such as polyethylene.

These raw materials can be completely degraded into carbon dioxide, water, and biomass through microbial action in the natural environment, without causing pollution to farmland and water bodies. The use of fully biodegradable film can effectively solve the problem of traditional film residue pollution, improve soil permeability, and promote crop growth.

100% Biodegradable Plastic Film

The benefits of fully biodegradable plastic film mainly include the following aspects:

Environmental protection and energy conservation: The fully biodegradable plastic film is made from natural plant starch as raw material, which does not contain harmful substances and can be completely degraded. It will not cause pollution or harm to the environment and meets the requirements of sustainable development.

Breathable and Permeable: Fully biodegradable plastic film has good breathability and permeability, which can fully ensure the respiration and water supply of crop roots, and is conducive to improving yield and quality.

Wind and Frost Resistance: The fully biodegradable plastic film is made using high-strength film technology and has excellent wind and frost resistance. It can be used in complex climate environments to protect the growth of crops.

Reduce environmental pollution: The use of fully biodegradable plastic film can reduce residual film pollution in farmland, lower soil heavy metal content, reduce chemical pesticide and fertilizer residues, maximize soil health, and enhance the ecological adaptability of crops.

Promoting Green Agricultural Development: The application of fully biodegradable plastic film contributes to green agricultural development. By promoting the use of this film, white pollution can be reduced and rural ecological revitalization can be promoted.

The application scope of fully biodegradable plastic film: Fully biodegradable plastic film can be widely used in the planting and cultivation of crops such as fruit trees, vegetables, flowers, and tea, promoting yield increase and preventing the occurrence of pests and diseases.

Future outlook: With the increasing demand for environmental protection, safety, and health, the market prospects for fully biodegradable plastic film are very broad. In the future, the application of fully biodegradable plastic film in agricultural production will become more widespread, making greater contributions to agricultural production and environmental protection.
